Since then, she has earned her master's degree in Library and Information Science from University of Southern Mississippi.

You can find Hillary spending her free time exploring the great outdoors via bicycle or kayak with her daughter and husband or reading her favorite novel by the beach.

Professional Philosophy

The elementary school library is a vibrant hub for learning and discovery. Here, students develop a love for reading, practice responsible online exploration, and collaborate by sharing stories and knowledge with one another.

As the school librarian, Hillary believes that becoming a lifelong learner starts with knowing how to access and use information. Her work with students focuses on teaching crucial information literacy skills, guiding them to identify accurate, reliable sources and use them ethically. Alongside this, she is dedicated to fostering a love for reading for pleasure by exposing students to a diverse range of authors and genres. These efforts are built upon a foundation of core library and literacy skills designed to enhance each student's confidence and reading ability.
